Selection of papers

Papers submitted for review must meet the following criteria:

– Originality. The papers submitted to EUTIC 2024 must be original works, and may be derived from research of different types, experiences or projects, as well as reflections on any of the topics covered in the thematic tables of the Congress.

– Time and form. Proposals must be submitted within the established deadlines and through the platform established for this purpose. Submissions after the deadline will not be accepted, nor will they be sent through alternative channels.

– Opening date for submission of papers (extended abstract): 20 March 2024

– Deadline for submission of communications (extended abstract): 31 May 2024 June 30, 2024

– Deadline for notification of acceptance of submissions: 20 July 2024

– Deadline for submission of full communications: 20 September 2024

Submissions

Each author may submit a maximum of 2 contributions, indicating for which thematic panel each contribution is proposed. A maximum of 4 authors may participate in each paper. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to reassign those papers which, according to its criteria, are better suited to another thematic line than the one proposed by the author.

Format of the papers

Papers will be presented in a two-phase process. In the first phase (until 31 May 2024) only an extended abstract of the paper (up to 6000 characters; approx. 1000 words) will be submitted, according to the template provided by the organisation. Once the abstract has been accepted, authors will have until 20 September to submit the final full text, according to the template provided by the organisation.

“Papers may be written in English, French or Spanish.

Method of submission

Papers will be submitted through the conference website, in the corresponding section.

Acceptance of papers

Once the proposals have been uploaded to the platform, they will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. This review will be carried out by means of a peer review process and based on criteria such as the fit with the lines of work of the congress, the relevance of the subject matter, the originality of the proposal, the quality of the content or the correctness of the text.

As a result of the review, the authors will be informed of the decision to accept, modify or reject the proposal. If modifications are required, the author must submit a new submission, taking into account the suggestions for improvement, within a maximum period of 10 days after notification.

Any queries regarding the submission process should be sent to the following e-mail address: direccion@plazagrande.es.

The final acceptance of the paper, as well as its publication and corresponding certification, are subject to all authors having registered and paid the corresponding fee within the period established by the organisers.

Clarification

The submission of the extended communication (between 6500 and 8000 words) is mandatory in order to obtain the participation certificate. However, only the extended abstracts of the presented works are automatically published in the congress proceedings (abstract book).

Once the communication is accepted and presented in its final complete version, the congress organization will contact the participants to inquire whether, in addition to the extended abstract, they want the full version to be published or not (there are different possibilities for subsequent publication: a self-published book with ISBN, monographs in prestigious journals that are being negotiated, and also the possibility that a selection of works will be published in a book already agreed upon with the OCTAEDRO publisher).

In other words, the submission of the extended abstract in phase I is mandatory and all accepted work abstracts are published. The subsequent submission of the extended work is mandatory, but the final publication decision of the “complete” work will be at the discretion of the participant.

Symposium Proposal Selection

Each symposium will have a duration of between 60 and 90 minutes, allowing for the presentation of a minimum of three and a maximum of six communications along with a discussion. The acceptance of the symposium is subject to all authors completing registration and payment of the corresponding fee within the deadline set by the organization.

Symposia can be organized around a common theme or research project. To do this, it is necessary to submit a proposal to the Organizing Committee, which should include the following information:

  • Symposium name
  • Coordinator’s name and contact email
  • Participants (up to 4 individuals per communication)
  • Thematic line to which it belongs
  • Abstract (up to 1000 words)

Submission of Symposium Proposals

Symposium proposals should be submitted using the designated form.

  • Opening date for submission of symposium proposals: March 20, 2024
  • Deadline for submission of symposium proposals: May 31, 2024

For accepted symposia, the publication of the papers will involve the prior submission of the final text, adhering to the guidelines for full-text submission and the established deadlines, similar to regular paper submissions.

This second submission, consisting of the final texts of the communications included in each accepted symposium, should be sent through the specific submission form provided on the conference website, following the general dates established for other forms of participation in the conference (communications).

Development of Symposia

The accepted symposia will be conducted within the allotted timeframes during the conference for simultaneous panel sessions.

Communications included in each symposium will be presented in a manner that allows authors to be available to address questions from attendees. However, authors who prefer may opt to prepare a pre-recorded video presentation to be played during the symposium.

In-person or Virtual Presentation

  • Presential communications at the conference
  • Intervention by synchronous / asynchronous videoconference, accepted on a case-by-case basis with justification. Registration fees must be paid.

During the journeys of EUTIC 2024, time slots will be allocated for the discussion of presentations. To facilitate this, parallel sessions will be organized based on the thematic lines to which the proposals belong.

Each panel of presentations will be moderated by their respective coordinators. Presentations will be pre-uploaded to the virtual space, with the aim of facilitating discussion among the participants during the panels. Presenter involvement will be in person. Alternatively, participation may occur through real-time video conferencing or by pre-recording a presentation video no longer than 5 minutes.

Acknowledgement of participation – Book of Proceedings

  • Publication of all papers in the proceedings book.

  • Possible selection of papers for publication in a book and/or monographic issue.

Publication of the papers

There is the possibility that a selection of papers, at the discretion of the scientific committee of the congress, may be proposed for possible publication as book chapters by OCTAEDRO publishers or in monographs of prestigious academic journals (to be determined).

Certification

Certifications of attendance and communication are subject to the following requirements being met:

  • The certificate of attendance will be awarded to those persons who have paid the registration fee and have attended the Conference in the classroom or virtual mode.
  • The communication certificate will be given to those persons who have paid the registration fee and whose communication has been presented by one of the authors in synchronous or asynchronous mode.
